Enel gets nod to start up 161-MW solar park in Chile

- Renewables firm Enel Green Power Chile stated on Wednesday that it has obtained a permit to begin business procedure of its 161-MW Sol de Lila solar farm situated in the Chilean region of Antofagasta.
The plant was integrated in the Atacama Desert where a team of around 1,260 employees installed 407,400 bifacial monocrystalline solar panels.
Sol de Lila is anticipated to generate around 500 GWh annually, or enough to power some 167,000 Chilean homes, the company stated.
Enel Green Power Chile, a device of electric utility service Enel Chile, operates a portfolio of having 564 MW of wind, 1,537 MW of solar, 92 MW of hydro and 81 MW of geothermal power.
