Located in between the villages of Swainsthorpe and also Mulbarton, just south of Norwich, the preparation application for the solar farm was submitted in October 2021.

It is one of a slew of 50MW projects being established by EDF Renewables, consisting of 49.9 MW Burwell site in South East Cambridgeshire as well as the 49.9 MW Porth Wen site in Anglesey, which are both at the site prep work and also building phase.

In May, EDF submitted a preparation application for a 49.9 MW solar farm in Northamptonshire, while in April construction of the 49.9 MW Sutton Bridge Solar Farm started.

Along with Bloy's Grove, the company sent a preparation application for its 49.9 MW Tye Lane solar farm in 2021, and also in July of last year it opened a public assessment for its 49.9 MW East Stour solar farm.

" EDF Renewables UK is pleased to have been provided planning approval to create a solar farm at Bloy's Grove, a 50 MW project with the ability of producing enough clean, green electrical energy for around 14,000 residences," stated EDF Renewables' head of development Darren Cuming.

" We will certainly currently function very closely with the neighborhood community and the council to prepare the following actions towards construction as well as procedure. EDF Renewables UK wishes to be a great neighbour; we will construct, possess as well as operate the solar farm for the lifetime of the project, we are using a ₤ 20,000 per year community benefit fund, and we are planning substantial biodiversity enhancements on site, consisting of a community orchard. We will liaise with local residents on all these issues."
