Arkema Signs 400-GWh Solar PPA in France

French chemicals company Arkema SA has signed a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with EDF Renewables for 400 GWh of solar electricity a year. The PPA will secure 70% of the domestic electricity needs of Arkema's specialty adhesives subsidiary Bostik, namely its eight sites in France. The agreement is part of Arkema’s commitment to reduce its CO2 emissions in line with the 1.5°C trajectory by 2030, as well as to support Bostik’s efforts to reduce CO2 emissions from their activities. Additionally, the solar PPA backs the company’s vision of transitioning to a more environmentally friendly economy. Vincent Legros, executive vice president of the adhesive solutions segment (Bostik) expressed his enthusiasm towards the deal.
