Osaka Gas, Sky Solar to develop 8 MW of solar in Japan
- Japanese company Osaka Gas Co Ltd (TYO:9532) introduced on Wednesday that it is collaborate Sky Solar Japan KK (SSJ) to co-develop about 8 MW of solar projects at home.
Situated in the prefectures of Aomori, Iwate, Shizuoka and Gifu, the solar portfolio includes 10 solar projects that will be owned and operated by a 50/50 unique function company.
Osaka Gas said that it will purchase all the electrical power produced by the nuclear power plant, which are scheduled to begin procedure by the end of February 2023.
The assets will not take advantage of the country's feed-in-tariff (FiT) plan nor from the feed-in-premium (FiP) programme, however they become part of an aids programme to advertise the execution of solar power projects introduced by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's.
This contract adheres to the announcement made on March 31, 2022, where Osaka Gas formalised its financial investment in a 23-MW solar portfolio created by SSJ.
