Voltalia has actually won solar capacity totalling 117MW in Moroccan auctions.

The capacity is based over two sites as well as was auctioned in 2021 by the Moroccan Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development and MASEN, the firm in charge of executing the national renewable energy technique.

Last year the two government organisations jointly released an ask for tenders for an allocation programme for seven sites, every one of which qualify for the development of photovoltaic projects thanks to land civil liberties as well as connection to the national grid.

This programme intends to speed up the development of private solar projects within the framework of Law 58-15 on renewable energy in Morocco.

Voltalia was awarded the largest volume with 117MW out of a total amount of 400MW supplied. The two sites are Ain Beni Mathar (69MW) and also Guercif (48MW).

These 2 sites will cover the energy needs comparable to the annual usage of 290,000 inhabitants.

Building and construction is scheduled to start at the end of 2023.

Revenues will certainly be assured by long-lasting electrical power sales contracts, to be ended with personal customers connected to the public electrical power grid.

In Morocco, to date, Voltalia has almost 100MW of authorised projects, mostly in wind and also hydro-electricity, and also greater than 400MW under development, primarily solar.
