Voltalia Paves Way for Uzbek Renewables

Voltalia SA has agreed to take further steps in the development of two renewable energy projects in Uzbekistan. Last week during French President Emmanuel Macron's visit, Voltalia agreed to move ahead with its up to 500 MW Shurkul hybrid project, which will include solar photovoltaic (PV), wind and energy storage capacity. The company also will add an extra 100 MW wind and battery energy storage capacity to its 123 MW Sarimay solar project. CEO Sebastien Clerc stated, “these two bilateral agreements strengthen our presence in Uzbekistan.” This development is a positive step forward in the effort to increase renewable energy capacity in the Uzbek region.
