The company currently operates two factories in Thai Nguyen with a combined investment of USD 478 million. It is unclear if the new investment will go towards expanding existing plants or constructing a new production base. This summer, Trina was hit with new tariffs in the US due to attempts to circumvent current import duties by completing the assembly of their products in third countries in Southeast Asia.
