CIGS thin film

Thin-film laser systems equipment provider LPKF Laser & Electronics struggled with hold-ups in obtaining brand-new expected orders from 2 long-stand consumers last year.

LPKF Laser & Electronics has protected its very first laser solar scribing system order from a CIGS (copper indium gallium selenide) thin film customer worth around US$ 12.2 million.

Specialist PV manufacturing equipment supplier Singulus Technologies has received a new order for CIGS thin film processing tools from existing customer, China National Building Materials (CNBM).

The new total area efficiency record has been confirmed by TÜV Rheinland on a module surface area of 120 x 60 centimeters, using Manz production equipment at the NICE Solar Energy R&D facility in Schwäbisch Hall, Germany.

Chinese thin film producer Hanergy has set a new record of 24.85% module efficiency for silicon heterojunction technology. The record was achieved at the company’s research & development center in Chengdu, China, and has been confirmed by the Institute for Solar Energy Research in Hamelin, Germany.
