Renewable energy business Statkraft has actually revealed that the very first 30MWp of the Schornhof solar park near Ingolstadt, Bavaria, has been connected to the German power grid.

With a mounted capacity of 120MWp, Schornhof solar park is the largest solar park in Bavaria. It is being built on the 150ha of acreage.

The solar park is being developed with a financial investment of EUR60m as well as is arranged for conclusion in the first quarter of following year.

When fully functional, the facility is expected to produce more than 110GWh of tidy electrical energy every year, which will suffice to power 30,000 homes.

The renewable resource firm claimed that the clean energy produced by the solar facility will certainly not be directly provided to the medium-voltage grid due to the dimension of the solar park.

It will certainly be provided through a particularly created transformer terminal, which will transform the voltage from 20,000 V to 110,000 V.

In a different growth, Statkraft authorized a brand-new ten-year power purchase contract (PPA) with solar energy plant developer Anumar.

Statkraft Germany origination department head Patrick Koch stated: "As early as July 2020, Statkraft and also Anumar laid the foundation for the realisation of the Schornhof solar park by concluding the first PPA.

" I am especially delighted that we are wrapping up another power acquisition agreement today while the initial part of the plant is appointed. We are visibly driving the power change forward with ambitious projects similar to this one.

" The 2 firms have therefore wrapped up electricity supply agreements with a quantity of 90MW."

In July, Anumar signed a lasting PPA with Statkraft for 50MWp for around 11 years.

According to the new PPA, Statkraft will be acquiring virtually 40GWh of solar energy every year and also will incorporate it into the supply of commercial consumers.
