PetroGreen Energy Corp, a renewable power producer based in the Philippines, has been given clearance by the municipal government of Bugallon in Pangasinan province to construct a 25-MW solar park in the Luzon region. Construction is slated to begin in January and the project is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2021. It is estimated to generate 41,000 MWh of electricity a year, offsetting around 29,100 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. PetroGreen is controlled by PetroEnergy, while Kyuden International Corp and EEI Corporation hold 25% and 7.5% respective stakes. The company already operates two solar farms totalling 70 MW DC through its subsidiary PetroSolar Corp and is also developing a 27-MW DC project in the Bohol province of the Central Visayas region.
