Nextera Energy Resources intends to create 30 GW of new renewables by 2024

  • United States renewable energy power plant operator Nextera Energy Resources LLC, subsidiary of power utility Nextera Energy Inc., intends to create around 23 to 30 GW of brand-new renewables in the 2021 to 2024 timeframe.

"If we achieve success, it would indicate including a portfolio of generation projects that is roughly one-and-a-half times the size of Nextera Energy Resources' whole operating renewables portfolio since year-end 2019," said Nextera Energy Inc. on the event of the statement of its fourth-quarter as well as full-year 2020 monetary results.

Nextera Energy Resources is expected to create in between 10,525 MW and 12,700 MW of wind, solar and also energy storage space projects through 2021/2022 (signed contracts: 9,321 MW), including 4,800 to 5,600 MW solar projects (authorized agreements: 4,173 MW).
