Morocco Launches Noor Midelt III Tender

Masen has set a goal of 52 percent renewable energy by 2030, and the Noor Midelt III project is part of the country's plan to deploy 10 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity by the end of the decade. Masen has launched a call for pre-qualification for the development of the 400-MW Noor Midelt III solar power project, located in the Atlas mountains near the town of Midelt. Along with the 400-MW solar power plant, a 400-MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) will be developed as part of the project. Interested parties have until October 20 to submit their proposals for the competitive process. Last month, Masen announced the companies and consortia that have been pre-qualified for the tender to design, build and operate the 400-MW Noor Midelt II solar project with battery storage.
