Maldives govt seeks feedback on suggested 20-MW solar project tender

- The Maldives government and also the Asian Development Bank (ADB), acting as deal expert, are welcoming interested events to participate in market-sounding sessions in connection with a 20-MW solar project for which a request for proposals (RFP) ought to be introduced in the coming weeks.
The one-hour sessions will be held via Zoom on October 18 and October 20, the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Technology (MOE) of the Republic of Maldives announced on Sunday. It explained that the objective of this process is to get bidder and lending institution community insights. The feedback will certainly inform the last tender design.
The winner of the proposed affordable bidding process will design, construct, finance, own, run and preserve a mix of land, roof and also nearshore floating solar power systems in 20 outer islands of the Maldives.
The project will certainly be sustained by a 15-year power acquisition arrangement (PPA) with state-owned utility Fenaka Corporation Ltd
