This advanced energy storage system is capable of keeping 6 to 12 hours or more of energy and dispatching it as needed.

The business are partnering to determine and support long-duration energy storage jobs, using Oriden's eco-friendly and energy storage job development proficiency and Lockheed Martin's GridStar Flow battery, which offers the durability, flexibility and safety needed for task success.

"We are motivated by the great synergies in between our 2 companies to bring brand-new circulation battery technology to the market," stated Dan Norton, vice president of Lockheed Martin Energy. "This arrangement accelerates our efforts to scale GridStar Circulation rapidly and to support our worldwide clients."

"Oriden thinks in the potential of long-duration energy storage, and we are excited to deal with Lockheed Martin to find the very best chances for our clients," stated Matthew Maroon, director of energy storage advancement at Oriden. "This contract highlights Oriden's commitment to deploying brand-new energy storage innovations to meet the technical and financial needs of the marketplace."

Unlike standard batteries, GridStar Circulation allows customers to efficiently size power (megawatts) and energy (megawatt hours) separately and keeps its energy capability without destruction throughout job life. These product characteristics will be critical as need grows for large-scale batteries to incorporate increasing levels of eco-friendly energy on the grid, for batteries as transmission and distribution possessions, and for other applications, including microgrids.
