In a statement to the Shenzhen Stock Exchange earlier today, JA verified it had signed a contract with the local government of Chaoyang City to develop a 5GW module setting up manufacturing facility as well as a 2GW hybrid wind and solar energy project.

Referred to as the 'Jiaoyang Chaoyang Comprehensive New Energy Industrial Base', the facility is anticipated to need a total investment of RMB10 billion (US$ 1.56 billion). Of that number, around RMB1 billion (US$ 156 million) is required for the production base, the declaration checked out.
