Equinix and Sonnedix Fuel Portugal's Energy Transition

Sonnedix and Equinix have signed a 10-year pay-as-produced power purchase agreement (PPA) for 149MW of solar power to be generated from the Douro PV project in Tarouca, Portugal. This follows an earlier PPA in Spain, representing Sonnedix’s largest PPA to date in Europe. Both companies are committed to accelerating the energy transition, as evidenced through this agreement. Tailored and cost-effective PPAs are a cornerstone of Sonnedix’s strategy, while Equinix is aiming to become climate neutral by 2030. Carlos Paulino, Equinix Managing Director in Portugal said they plan to continue seeking opportunities to support renewable power generation. Axel Thiemann, CEO of Sonnedix said they are pleased to extend their relationship with Equinix and establish their commercial presence in Portugal.
