Enel X installs 890 MWh PV systems at warehouses of Penny Romania

  • Enel X Romania, part of Italian power group Enel, claimed on Friday that it has installed photovoltaic systems able to produce 445 MWh of energy annually each at two warehouses of Penny chain of discount supermarkets.

Enel X mounted over 2,800 photovoltaic or pv panels on the roofings of Penny's warehouses in Turda and Stefanesti, it said in a press release.

The mounted ability of the two systems is 1,250 kilowatts height (kWp).

The photovoltaic or pv systems will add to the reduction of co2 exhausts by 771 tonnes each year and will certainly bring yearly cost savings of 150,000 euro ($176,708) on power expenses.

Enel X is the advanced power solutions division of Italian distributor of power as well as gas Enel.

Part of Germany-based food seller REWE, Penny has 280 supermarkets in Romania, in which it uses over 5,000 people.

Penny's network in Romania is offered by three logistics centres located in Stefanestii de Jos, Turda and Bacau.
