Enel wins 130MW in Italian renewables auctions

Enel Green Power Italia and Enel Produzione have actually been granted 130MW split between new renewable capacity and repair of hydropower plants currently in service, in current Italian auctions.
The Enel services won the capacity in the 7th round of renewable resource source tenders held by Gestore Servizi Energetici (GSE), from the "auctions" and "registers" quotas.
Of the total capacity awarded, 89.2 MW will be met by 2 new solar projects, to be built in the Piedmont area and also Sicily, with building work starting in 2022.
Similarly, 37.3 MW originated from the refurbishment of 3 hydro plants already in operation in the Basilicata, Campania and Lazio regions.
The continuing to be 3.1 MW relates to new renewable capacity from the "signs up" quota, with a total of 8 projects, including 6 projects for new solar capacity on the roofing systems of Enel structures and on Enel land (in Tuscany, Lombardy and Campania), a hydropower plant in Sicily and a project to refurbish an existing hydropower plant in the Marche region.
The seventh GSE renewable resource sources auction recorded a total offering of 1232MW with projects granted for 975MW.
