Enel Green Power fires up 15-MW solar plant in Spain

The firm said today that the construction included a financial investment of around EUR 14 million (USD 17m). Called Nou Biniatria, the solar plant is geared up with 38,880 PV panels, with the ability of creating about 24.84 GWh each year.

The project additionally included the building and construction of two transformer terminals, a private substation and a 1.7-kilometre (1 mile) below ground transmission line.

The new solar ranch is located near Endesa's coal-fired plant Es Murterar. Through EGPE, the firm will be seeking to establish up 73 MW of solar in the area of the plant, Endesa Chief Executive Officer Jose Bogas stated.

Beside Nou Biniatria, EGPE runs the Sa Caseta PV plant, of approximately 22 MW, in Mallorca also. Both facilities will be signed up with by a group of 5 other solar projects that the firm intends to improve the Balearic Islands.
