ContourGlobal Taps CATL for 3 GWh Storage Deal

ContourGlobal has placed an order for 3 GWh of battery storage equipment from CATL for multi-country projects. The deal covers 526 battery containers, each rated at 5.64 MWh, configured for four hours of continuous discharge. CATL will supply lithium iron phosphate cells integrated with its liquid-cooled system technology.

The batteries will be used at three sites: the 500-MW/2,000-MWh Wallace standalone project in Scotland (in advanced development), the 100-MW/400-MWh Taxiarches project in Greece (under construction), and the 90-MW/360-MWh battery portion of the Los Maitenes hybrid solar-plus-storage project in Chile (under construction). ContourGlobal said the CATL agreement is its first bundled supply deal with the Chinese manufacturer and will help align delivery timing with its pipeline.
