  • Asset manager Commerz Real, part of Commerzbank Group, has gotten the project for a 50-megawatt photovoltaic or pv power plant with simultaneous agricultural usage (Agri-PV) for an undisclosed amount.

The seller as well as participation companion for the further development is Elysium Solar, a joint venture of Zurich-based consulting firms EIC Partners as well as Berlin-based consulting firm LBD. By incorporating the project into its "Klimavest" fund, Commerz Real is "making a large-scale agrivoltaic project in Germany easily accessible to personal investors for the very first time ever."

The plant "near Berlin" is scheduled to go into operation in 2025. The strategy is to have single-axis monitoring component rows, generally a conventional ground-mounted solar power plant, yet with extensive row spacing. This idea, which is becoming significantly prevalent in the field of large-scale agri-PV projects, enables growing despite having big machines without added design effort. The participation with Elysium Solar is to be increased as well as "at least two further agrivoltaic parks of a similar size" are to be established for Commerz Real.
